Jessica sees children, adolescents, and adults
Dr Jessica Tearne is a wonderful addition to the Sleep Matters team, bringing with her a wealth of experience, and a gentle, warm and reassuring manner. Jessica earned her masters degree and PhD at The University of Western Australia.
Jessica enjoys working with clients across the lifespan, working with children from age 5 through to older adulthood.
Clients presenting with straightforward insomnia as well as those with more complicated sleep difficulties (eg poor sleep in the context of trauma/PTSD, depression) will be in capable hands with Dr Jessica Tearne.
Jessica is an active researcher and prides herself on delivering efficacious, evidence based therapies. She works from a cognitive behavioural framework (the recommended first line treatment for insomnia), and has also received training in dialectical behaviour therapy and trauma focused cognitive therapy. She regularly reviews papers for peer reviewed scientific journals and keeps up to date with the latest treatment research, and has published several academic papers in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
